About Us

If you are thinking about running the London Marathon or even if you are new to running and would just like to improve your level of fitness drop by anytime to find out more about us. We are always pleased to receive new members. Please look in the training section to see when we meet or in the picture gallery to see more of where we run. With members of all different ages and abilities we are a diverse crowd. The Club has also reached Club Mark Accreditation.

Who are we?

We are an established running club with a reputation for being both friendly and competitive. Our members are of all ages and ability. Some of us run to keep fit, some to train for races of all distances, both local and further afield or some just for the fun of it. If you are new to running or a hardened veteran there will always be someone to run with. We are always happy to see new faces so come along and join us!

Where do we run?London Marathon

Our clubhouse is located in the picturesque Swanley Park, just off New Barn Road. This allows us to train on some road & trail runs in the surrounding countryside. Favourites include Joydens Wood & Farningham Wood as well as around Swanley Park itself. Many of our members also take part in local races like the annual Wilmington 10k, the Dartford half marathon and various marathons including the London Marathon.

When do we run?

Monday: 6:45pm for 7:00pm Coached session usually start at Dartford track, Central Park (near Fairfield Pool entrance), Dartford. Duration - 1 hour approx.

Tuesday: 7pm. 5-6 mile relaxed local run currently from Birchwood Park golf course car park. This may change in the winter months. Varied speed. Duration - 1hr approx.

Wednesday: Coached sessions starting at 6:30pm at Swanley Park during the summer months and then from White Oak Leisure Centre, Hilda May Avenue, Swanley BR8 7BT during the winter months.

Sunday: Start 9am from the clubhouse. This is a longer social run at a steadier pace. Runners of different ability split into different groups. The route is usually chosen on the day. Duration - variable 1-2hrs approx. Tea, biscuits and toast are always on offer at the clubhouse at the end of the run.

This weeks lovely sessions - tonight at Central Park, Dartford 6.45pm for 7.00pm a recovery session for those that ran at Oxleas Wood (well done) - 6 x 250, 6 x 150 strides. 150 walk recovery. Wednesday at White Oak Leisure Centre - 6.20pm for 6.30pm - run to Azalea Drive - then 5 reps (approx 1200 from memory) 1.5 min rec), jog back.
